Nik Nak's Daily Teaser — 20-12-2023 — The Bard

20th December, 2023: The Bard.

Hmmm ...

I have to admit: I've had another donor put some cash into the repair fund.

They know who they are: and have been suitably thanked!

But saying 'Thank You', again, today?

Does seem a good idea.

Thanks: it's much appreciated!

~≈⸸≈~

I have to confess, though, I am extremely nervous about the repair: which is due to be completed on Friday.

Will the shop be able to do anything?

At what cost?

Will my iMac be in working order when I get it home?

Will it work in the shop?

But not on my desk?

Will the oh-so-important back-up drives still work?

I'm feeling very anxious about this.

I rely on that machine for my digital life, and as a source of entertainment, so much that it being in for repair is definitely causing anxiety!

I can only hope that, come Friday?

All is well!

*        Hello, Mum!   Jude sent me a photo of Mikey and Bobby.

Bless him, he missed yesterday, Olga: he's feeling poorly, apparently.   He DID sent a photo, though!
I'll keep my finger crossed for you mother, Olga!   I hope those results are good!

Oh, sorry about Paul. And thanks from my mother. It was a bit of a trial, because the test lasted about an hour, (it was a brain MRI), and was very noisy. Even though she is quite deaf, she could still hear the noise, and you are expected to be very quiet for that lengthy period of time. Finger crossed, although they told us the results will be ready in a week or 10 days, but with the holiday period it might be longer, I guess, although it is probably all fairly automated. We've already made the appointment to see the neurologist about the results in January, but I'll check to see if the report is in the system before that.
I don't know if computer repair places do that or not. I know that my garage would phone me if they found out the car needed a bit repair to ask me if I wanted to go ahead or not, and if they found anything unexpected they would call me with an estimate, but I don't know if that's the usual as well for such places, because I imagine they must have a lot of work going at the same time and wouldn't have time to update everybody. Fingers crossed anyway.

Sorry I missed yesterday's teaser. I had my first appointment with a PT who actually understands dystonia. It ran very late and was somewhat tiring, but seems promising!

1. 1957
2. Barking
3. 1983
4. Kirsty MacColl
5. 2021

I had another appointment today with an OT who also really gets the problem and, between the two of them, I'm now doing a killer set of exercises. This is the best news I've had in ages, believe it or not. :)
