Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th November, 2021

8th November, 2021.

It’s official: I’m expecting a visitor.

No: not the pest controller, unfortunately.

Nope: I’m getting another visit from the Office of National Statistics COVID-19 testers.

Granted?   They’re not given us Amazon vouchers, any more.

Which is a shame, those were handy.

We CAN claim iTunes gift cards: which helps.

Especially if you really DO want the Bestiality of the Bonzo Dog Band.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Edith‡, Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, Mum on four, and Edith on three.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        As I recall, Olga?   Fiennes Spent movie of the movie doing his best Michael Caine impression … !

        Hello, Mum!

‡        I think you’re right, there, Edith.   Oh, did you ever see any Bollywood movies?   Someone played this tune, many years ago — it’s called Deewangi Deewangi, and it’s from a film called Om Shanti Om — and it’s stuck in my head, ever since!   (All the singers and dancers in it are all famous Bollywood stars.   The first woman who appears is called Shilpa Shetty: who was HUGE!!!)

^        You know, I’ve never seen it, Debbi?   I should sit down with it, at some point.   I’ve just seen the Wikipedia entry.   The film centres on a dowry?   Bloody hell, times HAVE changed!
Dune is definitely worth a go: it, Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels, and William Gibson’s Sprawl trilogy are permanent fixtures on my shelves.
Did I ever mention the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band?   There’s some interesting stuff in there …

I have many Discworld books to read, plus William Gibson. Plus a whole bunch of hardboiled mystery writers! So many! :)

Here's a good one. Gun with Occasional Music! One of my somewhat recent favorites! :)
