Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th January 2023 Teaser.

11th January, 2023.

Right … I’m up early, again.

As the monthly weight management programme’s next meeting … ?

Is today.

I don’t know why it’s been shifted to Wednesday.

But suspect that — as the last two meetings have only had two other people, including my self — that a lack of people may have something to do with it.

We’ll just have to see!

~≈🏋️‍♂️≈~

Did I mention Jude — my nephew — was over, last night?

Jude was over, last night.

I think we can safely say way too much food was eaten!

But?   We can also say a video was made: of Jude’s most recent game of Fall Guys.

I wish there was a Mac version: it looks like fun.

Oh, just in case you’re following the Golden Globes awards?

Colin Farrell’s The Banshees of Inisherin has done well for itself.

Which is nice.

Unless you’re me.

Any use of the word, ‘banshee’ leaves me with an earworm*!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five and Debbi, and Mum, on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        11th January is Prithvi Jayanti, or National Unity Day.   Where: Bhutan, Nepal or Tibet?

Q2)        The first person to fly solo from Hawaii to California, did so on 11th January, 1935.   Who was that parson: Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh or Bessie Coleman?

Q3)        Throgs Neck Bridge was opened: on 11th January, 1961.   It connects the Bronx to where: Queens, Brooklyn or Manhattan?

Q4)        An earthquake happened: on 11th January, 1693.   Where: Sicily, Rome or Naples?

Q5)        Finally … ?   11th January, 1915, saw the birth of Lieutenant Colonel Robert ‘Paddy’ Mayne.   He co-founded which British Army regiment: the SAS, the Rifles or the Falkland Islands Defence Force?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Metropolis was first released: on 10th January, 1927.   In which European country?
A1)        Germany.

Q2)        The New England Journal of Medicine published a letter called Addiction Rare in Patients Treated with Narcotics on 10th January, 1980.   It was used to downplay addiction to what: opioids, stimulants or alcohol?
A2)        Opioids.

Q3)        A general strike started on 10th January, 2007.   Where: Cape Verde, Guinea or Liberia?
A3)        Guinea.

Q4)        10th January, 1945, saw the birth of singer, Rod Stewart.   How many UK number ones has he had: five, six or seven?
A4)        Six.

Q5)        Finally … ?   10th January, 1948, saw the birth of singer-songwriter, Donald Fagen.   He was the lead singer of which band: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steely Dan or Steeler’s Wheel?
A5)        Steely Dan.
Here’s a thought …

“The music business is not a good place for people who don’t know things.”
Mary J. Blige, born January 11, 1971.

And a, as it has a contribution from Big Bank Hank, a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I have to say, my imagination’s adding a Wilko-Johnson-style rhythm guitar part to that song!

†        Hello, Mum!   (Rod Stewart had six UK number ones!)

‡        I’m keeping my fingers crossed, Olga.   And cheers, by the way: I’ve been thinking of them as Servalan hats for years!   The last time I saw one, it was on Natalie Dormer in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

^        You know, that’s another one I’ll have to catch, Debbi!   That and West Side Story!   Oh, Michelle Yeoh’s picked up a gong for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

I saw and add for Colin Farrell's movie and want to watch it, but I don't think it's been shown here yet, or I might have missed it completely, if it had a very limited release.
Oh, as I promised, here are the links to the pics from the Radio various extravaganzas:
