Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 20-6-2019: World Refugee Day.

20th June, 2019.

Yes: I’m officially off to the job centre, this morning: feeling a touch …

Thoughtful, let’s put it that way.

After all, the most recent inter I had — the one I turned up late to — arranged a second interview for the 26th …

And then, a few days ago, cancelled.

Admittedly, cancelled: with the promise they’d be in touch with a new date.

I’m sceptical: I’ve heard that a few times.

At ANY rate … ?

I’d need to discuss the fare money that the Job Centre lent me.

With the amount of money coming in, this month?

I need to find out if — and how much — I need to repay.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) According to the UN, 20th June is World Refugee Day.   What’s the name of the UN’s refugee body?
Q2) The High Commission for Refugees was the equivalent body: for which international organisation?
Q3) Someone forced to flee their home — but not their country — isn’t strictly a refugee.   They are … what?
Q4) Many refugees will be living where: refugee camps, ghettos or favelas?
Q5) Finally?   According to Wikipedia, and as of 2016, which country has the highest number of refugees?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Which oil rich state declared independence: on 19th June, 1961?
A1) Kuwait.
Q2) The last occupying Soviet troops left where: on 19th June, 1991?
A2) Hungary.
Q3) 19th June, 1921, saw the birth of actor, Louis Jourdan.   In which 1983 film did he play Kamal Khan?
A3) Octopussy.
Q4) 19th June, 1954, saw the birth of actress, Kathleen Turner.   In which film does she voice Jessica Rabbit?
Q5) Finally … ?   The original Nicene Creed was presented: on 19th June, AD325.   It says that Christians believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the … what?
A5) Holy Ghost.
Here’s a thought …
“No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark.”
Warsan Shire.
And some songs …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Morning, Anne!   You know, those extras make the DVD and blu-rays worth the money.   Game of Thrones always had a lot!   The recent Dr Who discs are … well, they don’t have as many, lets’s put it that way!   I know the writers were planning a prequel.   But also had an alternative history show planned: which didn’t go down well.

†        Oh, THAT I did, Olga!   I’ve got him again, tonight: I really have to persuade him pizza on two nights in a row isn’t the best idea … !   Oy!

‡        I know, Debbi, I know!   There’s a story doing the rounds.   Apparently, Keith got a limo from the hotel, after one gig in the States.   Five minutes after leaving the place, Moon instead they go back.   He got out, went into the hotel, and back to the room, chucked the TV out of the window, and dashed back to the limo.   As they drove away, he turned around to the driver and “I knew there was something I forgot!”

I am getting season 8 of Game Thrones I don't believe it out yet, CEX usually do better bargains than Amazon. I love the extras on DVD. That video clip this morning was a good interview. Doctor Who I watch quite a few interviews on the Classics. Tom Baker is the Doctor off and on screen

Q1) The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
Q2) The High Commission for Refugees was the equivalent body: for which international organisation? When I search for this I only get the same results as above, so I’m not sure if I don’t understand the question. It was called other things before, but this seems to be the current name.
Q3) Internally displaced?
Q4) Refugee camps
Q5) Lebanon
Good luck with the money situation, Paul. I didn't realise they had cancelled the interview. Sorry but not having a very clever day. My mother injured her knee somehow and we ended up in hospital at 5 am. It doesn't seem to be anything serious, but I haven't quite woken up yet...
