Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 25th June, 2019.

25th June, 2019.

I have to say, right now … ?

It’s raining …

And that matches my mood, perfectly: given the recent deaths in the family.

What can I tell you?

Except that funeral plans for my aunty seem … scant: even though they are pretty much what she wanted.

Closure …

That’s a tricky one, here, I think.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, Trevor‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Anne, Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five and Trevor on four..

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 25th June, 2015, saw the death of Patrick Macnee.   In which film did he play Sir Denis Eton-Hogg?
Q2) The tenth state to ratify the US Constitution, did so on 25th June, 1788.   Which state was it?
Q3) Mozambique gained its Independence from Portugal: on 25th June, 1975.   What’s Mozambique capital city?
Q4) 25th June, 2017, saw the World Health Organisation release estimates: about The amount of cholera cases in which country?
Q5) The Rainbow flag was first flown on 25th June, 1978.   In a Gay Pride march in which US city?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 24th June, 1981, saw the opening of the Humber Bridge: the longest bridge, at the time.   Name either one of the two counties it connected.
A1) North Lincolnshire or East Riding of Yorkshire.
Q2) The longest match in tennis history finished: on 24th June, 2010.   Who won?
Q3) 24th June, 1842, saw the birth of writer, Ambrose Bierce.   His The Death of Halpin Frayser is a what: war story, spy story or ghost story?
A3) Ghost story.
Q4) America’s first woman in space returned to Earth: on 24th June, 1983.   Who was she?
Q5) Finally … ?   Marie François Sadi Carnot was assassinated on 24th June, 1894.   Which French political post did he hold at the time?
A5) The French Presidency.
Here’s a thought …
“Men may be divided into two types: men of words and men of action. The first speaks; the latter act. I am of the second group.”
Antoni Gaudi, 25 June 1852 – 10 June 1926.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Cheers, Anne.   It’s been … rough …

†        Oh, very true, Olga, very true!   Time, though … ?   It’s always the issue …

‡        Oh, Cheers, Trevor: it’s amazing how the various counties have changed, over the years.   Whatever happened to Rutland?   (Oh, The Death of Halpin Frayser is definitely a ghost story: going by the Wikipedia entry.   Although I got the impression Bierce did some war stories.)

^        That it is, Debbi.   I think what gets me about Bella’s death — in particular — was that we’d not seen her for some times.   She’d been in and out of hospital, at the wrongest times!
