Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 12th February, 2022.

12th February, 2022.

Right … I’ve got a cold.

Or possibly ’Flu.

I know for a fact it’s not COVID-19: whatever variant of the condition that’s doing the rounds at the moment.

How?

I’ve just done a Lateral Flow Test: what Australians call a Rapid Antigen Test, or RAT.

It’s negative.

It means I don’t have to self-isolate for however long it is, at the moment.

Which is nice.

It means I don’t have to self-isolate for however long it is, at the moment.

Which is inconvenient.

It means I have to go to my Restart meeting, on Wednesday: I’m not looking forward to it, so any excuse is helpful.

Heigh-ho!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser sawOlga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I have to admit, I went with the BBC’s news item about it, Olga.   It seemed fairly explicit: at least, the opening paragraphs were.
It’s funny you should mention the price of essentials, too.   I’ve got the Today programme on — as ever! — and they’ve featured some research the BBC’s picked up on.   Seemingly, the basics are going up.   Which isn’t surprising, somehow.
I have to admit, it’s nice to know the weight’s going down … but I’m the same on the patience front.   So — I think — are everyone in the Thursday weight-loss group: we’ve all been discussing this, at the recent meeting.

        Hello, Mum!

Which reminds me, Debbi, there’s a few I want to catch up with.   The Book of Boba Fett sitting there, as is Discovery, and Foundation.   And a couple of Nigel Kneale serials and TV plays.   Including The Year of the Sex Olympics.   Kneale’s said to have invented reality TV with that one.
Oooh … sounds like someone’s getting seriously geeky!   He says, hurriedly looking up the word ‘dataset’ … !   You know, that’s only the second or third time I’ve seen Discord mentioned.   It’s a messaging service, isn’t it?   I’ve only ever seen it mentioned on a few Terry Pratchett groups I belong to.
Oh, the music?   Is usually what’s built into the games: tweaked, a little, to avoid copyright strikes.   Saying that?   I think we’re avoiding those, as we’re adding value: adding comments, intros and what not, to tell a story.

Sorry to hear about your cold/flu. Don't you get the flu vaccines every year? With your diabetes and other health concerns, it would be advisable, I think. Perhaps you could ask your GP...
Here, and it seems everywhere, everything is more expensive, but with the price of energy going up, everything increases as well, and, of course, we have all the after-effects (if this is the after) of Covid, parts not being delivered, etc. A nightmare.
I hadn't heard of that injection, so thanks for the info. I can't remember if I have ever told you about a friend of mine here, Montse (Montserrat) who had a weight-loss operation quite a few years back now. She had some serious health problems (she wasn't morbidly obese, or at least didn't seem to be, but it affected her badly, and she'd always struggled with her weight. I have always had weight problems but usually managed with diet and exercise, mostly diet, but have got used to being extremely careful of what I eat, especially at my age). She did lose a lot of weight, but she scars quite badly and had some problems later on (but nothing that required further operations). She seems to be quite well now on the weight front, but she suffers from ME, so...
Look after yourself.
