Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June, 2019.

28th June, 2019.

I’m right, aren’t I … ?   Aren’t I right … ?

No, honestly, I’m right!

Apple’s share price got a dent … !

Maybe not a big one, but none the less, a dent.

Why?

Because Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive — the man behind the original PowerBook, the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, practically anything with Apple’s logo on it, including the upcoming MacPro, along side the early versions, and the PowerMacs that preceded it — is leaving Apple.

And will be forming his own design company.

OK, granted, his new company’s main client will be Apple.

But that’s a hell of a blow for the company.

With possibly the only comparison?

Being the death of Steve Jobs …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 28th June is Tau Day: celebrating the number, Tau.   Tau is two times what … ?
Q2) 28th June, 2018, saw the death of SF writer, Harlan Ellison.   Which of his short stories won the 1966 Hugo, the 1965 Nebula, and the 2015 Prometheus Hall of Fame?
Q3) 28th June, 1519, saw Charles 5th named as Holy Roman Emperor.   He was a member of which Austrian House?
Q4) 28th June, 1964, saw Malcolm X form which group?
Q5) 28th June, 1491, saw the birth of Henry 8th.   In which year did he acted the English throne?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) In many German speaking countries, 25th June is Seven Sleepers Day.   It celebrates the Seven Sleepers of where?
A1) Ephesus.
Q2) 27th June is the feast day of Saint Zoilus: who’s said to have been martyred in which Spanish city?
A2) Córdoba.

Q5) Finally … ?   A sever cyber attack took place on 27th June, 2017.   The attack mostly used a malware called Petya: with some eighty per cent of the attacks aimed organisations in which country?
A5) The Ukraine.
Here’s a thought …
Star Wars is adolescent nonsense; Close Encounters is obscurantist drivel; Star Trek can turn your brains to puree of bat guano; and the greatest science fiction series of all time is Doctor Who!”
In memory of Harlan Ellison, May 27, 1934 – June 28, 2018.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Morning, Anne!   That’s a thought, how WAS that day out, the other day?

†        I think Debbi got your message, Olga!   At ANY rate … ?   The plumber get’s here on Tuesday!

‡        I noticed, that, Debbi: I think we have to nominate you for Cohen the Barbarian’s Survivor of the Year award …

Good... I hope the sink doesn't bother you so much in the meantime. And you're right, other than acute complaints, most things in Medicine take their time, even when the ailment is well-known and understood.
