I think I’m right in today’s intro: I’m going to need to have words with my family.
Christmas is looming: and I’m still — still — mulling over a family present.
I’m thinking a Chromecast — or Roku/Firestick — would be an idea: as my family could stream stuff to them from assorted phones and tablets.
Oh, and cheap.
Something like a laptop? And some recent Android media streamers?
Are a touch more expensive, and can’t — from what I can see — be streamed to, from a phone or tablet without a lot of faffing about.
But can be set up with individual user accounts: oh, and parental controls.
Something my youngest sister, Ruth would appreciate: when setting up an account for Jude, my eight year old nephew.

* The unfortunate thing, Olga? Turns out Annoyed Dad was a Labour activist: which sort of poisoned the well, for some. It turned the story from “Annoyed Dad confronts PM,” to “Labour Activist confronts Tory PM.” At ANY rate … ? I know what you mean about the weather: we’re looking at the same thing. And it was such a nice day, yesterday!

Q1) Brighton! (I’ve been there quite a few times and it’s an institution. A great place. I remember seeing Michael Moore there come and talk about his movies).

Yes, I saw that about annoyed Dad, although I think I read a member of staff from the hospital (perhaps a doctor, I can't remember) confirmed the man was right. Here the weather cleared out later, thankfully, as they were doing la festa del fitness (the party of fitness) this morning here, free, and I had registered for it, and it was open air. It was sunny, and a bit too hot for it, but well, you can't have everything! Keep us posted on the present's front (I think the Fire Stick could be set with parental control, but I'm not sure if that only applied to the Amazon contents... I suspect that would be the case for most things though. But then if the laptop or tablet also has parental control set up, it probably shouldn't be a problem. By the way, I still have my Fire Stick that is not the right model for here, and now with the smart TV it doesn't matter anyway. I'd offer to send it to you, but I suspect there might be newer models come out by now...). But if you want it, let me know. I'm sure I can find it and it isn't very heavy, so it shouldn't cost too much to send it.
Now that sounds like an interesting book!
Speaking of interesting books, I'm reading Harlan Ellison's book with that short story about the Ticktockman. Whew! The guy wrote like he was on LSD, I'm telling you. Wordy, yes. Enthralling still? Yes! :)
