Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-6-2021: Kristofferson

22nd June, 2021.

Right …

I’ve just had the last meal I’m going to have until I get home, tomorrow.

I’ve got another colonoscopy, tomorrow: and have to both fast, AND take powerful laxatives.

Starving?   And an artificially induced case of the trots?

Yum … !

Just so everyone knows … ?

Piers has finally reported on the key situation.

Here’s the report, from the Yellow Advertiser.

I think I’m going to have to have a word with him, though: I didn’t claim to have found someone!

I might have to send him the photo … !

And a copy of the report I sent in to Clarion’s Repair team.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Debbi‡ and Edith^ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Edith on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        22nd June saw the birth of Kris Kristofferson.   In which year of the 1930s?

Q2)        Kristofferson went to University, where: Oxford or Cambridge?

Q3)        During his years in the US army, Kristofferson almost taught English literature, where: the US Military Academy at West Point, the US Naval Academy at Annapolis or the US Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs?

Q4)        Kristofferson wrote the song, Me and Bobby McGee.   Who had a posthumous hit with Me and Bobby McGee, in 1971: Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison or Janis Joplin?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Kristofferson played Billy the Kid, in the film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.   Who directed Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid: Steven Spielberg, George Lucas or Sam Peckinpah?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        This year’s Summer Solstice takes place, today: on 21st June, 2021.   In which of the Earth’s hemispheres: northern or southern?
A1)        The Northern. (It’s the half of the Earth, above the Equator)

Q2)        Which solstice is it: in the other hemisphere: Summer or Winter?
A2)        Winter.

Q3)        The Summer Solstice is sometimes called Midsummer’s day.   Traditionally, England marks Midsummer’s Day on which day in June: the 22nd, 23rd or 24th or June?
A3)        The 24th.

Q4)        The Summer Solstice is the longest what of the year: day or night?
A4)        Day.

Q5)        Finally … ?   In parts of the far north, the sun won’t what, on the Summer Solstice: rise or set?
A5)        Set.
Here’s a thought …
“The desire to be fucked-up probably leaves you, but the desire to be high never does.”
Kris Kristofferson.
And a playlist …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Oh, HANG on, Cocoa’s involved, Olga?   I’m going to have more Diabetes medication, on the 24th!      And — if England get through to the finals? — London Underground will be doing the same thing: people will head for Wembley and Trafalgar Square.
It possibly wouldn’t be, I think.   I think Saint Petersburg’s too far south to get the full effect.   But, blimey!   Sants 3 got a potential travel writer on it’s hands!
(Edith does do well, doesn’t she?)

†        Hello, Mum!

‡        Does it take you so far back, Debbi, that strange, hideous, weird things say “Gosh, Debbi’s gone WAAAAAAAY back … !”?

^        My pleasure, again, Edith: you do pick a good tune, as and when!   Oh, let’s have something for the seaside, shall we?

Q1) 1936

Q2) Oxford

Q3) The US Military Academy at West Point

Q4) Janis Joplin (A fabulous song indeed)

Q5) Sam Peckinpah
"Coca" doesn't have cocoa on it, though, although it is cake-like, sometimes. It depends on the version. Some are quite crusty and some are soft and full of cream or stuffed with all kinds of things. (I can imagine this could put the debate about Jaffa cakes to shame). There are some with chocolate nowadays, but the original Coca de Sant Joan has preserved fruit on it and pine nuts. We love pine nuts, but they are so expensive!
Perhaps best not to talk about food. Good luck with everything, especially the test tomorrow. I hope it is all sorted.
I imagine the "claim" must be newspaper policy, but I agree that sending a copy of the photo and also of the videos you shared where we could see people getting into the building without a key would help. And the claim, because of course, Clarion are after good PR. Mind you, they don't seem to be too good at it.

There is only one place to go to the seaside and that is Seaside Oregon. I was there in 1998.

Look at the notable people from there. E.E. Smith the Sci-fi author is from there.

When we stayed on the Oregon coast, we stayed in Lincoln City. Small resort, just what we needed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_City,_Oregon
