Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-11-2022 — Oklahoma.

16th November, 2022: Oklahoma.

It’s a news day.

Or possibly, a news day.

For one thing?

My most recent written and video review — of the second episode of The Abominable Snowmen — is up.

As is my nephew’s most recent video.

Jude’s friend Jaskaran … ?

Is ever-so-slightly shy, I should add!

At any rate … ?

Feel free to like them, and share them!

Secondly?

And I realise it’s something of a punt …

But, in light of the fuss around Twitter, I’ve joined rival social network, Mastodon.

I’m still intent on using Twitter: I’ve built up a small following, including both regular readers, Olga and Debbi.

But, given the fuss and given I know a couple of people on there?

I felt it worth a go.

So you know?   Mastodon is made up of several federated modules: called servers.

I’m on one called Mastodon World.

So my Mastodon handle is @Cuddy2977 if you’re on that one: and @Cuddy2977@mastodon.world, if you’re on a different server.

That’s how you can go and find me.

I can also invite you.

From what I’m told?   The mobile Mastodon apps are very experimental, right now: but the site works well in a desktop browser.

Feel free to join up …

Just as a final thought … ?

Missiles hit Poland, last night.

Quite from where, no-one seems sure.

It’s worrying: as Poland has pointed ou that these were Russian made missiles.

Although no-one’s saying if these were deliberately aimed at Poland from Russia: or were Russian missiles that had been shot down by Ukraine anti aircraft missiles, landing in the neighbouring country by accident.

However?

That’s one hell of a worry.

If it can be shown that it was a deliberate move by Russia?

The could well trigger something nasty …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Oklahoma was admitted to the USA.   On 16th November of which year: 1905, 1907 or 1909?

Q2)        It was which state to have done so: the 46th, 47th or 48th?

Q3)        How many Native American languages are spoken in Oklahoma: twenty-four, twenty-five or twenty-six?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        15th November is Republic Day, in Brazil.   Marking the day who was deposed as Brazil’s ruler: the Brazilian Emperor, the King of Portugal or the pope?
A1)        The Brazilian Emperor.
Q2)        What’s Brazil’s capital city: Brasília, São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro?

Q3)        Brazil is one of the BRICS. In other words, one of the world’s five biggest emerging economies.   Name one of the other four.
A3)        Russia, India, China or South Africa.

Q4)        Whilst we’re being economical?   What’s Brazil’s currency: the Real, Peso or Rupee?
A4)        The Real.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Jair Bolsonaro is the outgoing one.   Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is the incoming one.   They’re the outgoing and incoming Brazilian what?
A5)        Brazilian president.
Here’s a thought …
“Oklahoma is many kinds of places, and I loved every one of them.”
Anita Bryant.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I think we’ve managed something Olga: we’ve had to improvise, covering Jaskaran’s face, though … !   He’s shy!
And I know what you mean about recording outside … !

        Hello, Mum!

Very true, Debbi, very true!   (Sorry about the ten question set, Debbi.   In my defence?   I’ve got a five question set about Bedfordshire on the 28th.   The place is a lot less interesting than Oklahoma, and you can’t sing about it … )

The sound of the recordings wasn't too bad, thankfully. Considering videos and content on social media has a way to hang around and embarrass or get people into trouble, Jude's friend might be onto something. I am very tired of social media, so, at least for the time being, I don't want to add to the list of things I have joined (including many I pay no attention to, like Tumbler)
