Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 7th November, 2022.

7th November, 2022.

Yes: It’s true.

I’m up early, again.

I’ve got another meeting at the local Job Centre.

Which should be … if not fun, then relatively innocuous.

I do know I’ve a thing or two to ask about: mostly about ID.

I may need a new copy of my adoption papers, and possibly a passport.

We’ll have to see how that goes.

~≈¥≈~

You follow the news, don’t you … ?

You’ll possibly be aware that various protestors have been blocking various roads: with recent groups being removed from the Dartford Crossing.

In one famous incident?   Protestors were dragged from the roof of a train: and seriously assaulted.

I’ve been a commuter.

It’s 18:30 on a Friday evening, and some [insert insult here]* is standing on my train home, trying to save a whale?

I’d be handing the protestors a kicking, as well.

As much as I generally support the cause?   Think working to reduce environment damage is a genuine public good?

Stopping people get home, or to work?

Causes genuine anger: to the point where protestor have been hurt.   And will no doubt get hurt, again.

So … ?

Noticing that a high court judge has issued an injunction: to stop Just Stop Oil protestors?

I, personally, can only applauded that judge.

He’s prevented a lot of anger: and, I suspect, a lot of assaults.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a thought …
“One does not decide the truth of a thought according to whether it is right-wing or left-wing.”
Albert Camus, 7 November 1913 – 4 January 1960.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I’m tempted to use the strongest terms in the language.

†        Hello, Mum!   (Oh, she’s Thandiwe Newton, these days.)

Remind me to mention the Darwin Awards, Olga: they hand them out to people who contribute to the gene pool … by selecting themselves out of it!   I think Senator Morris got a posthumous one.
I think you’re right: I know the BBC’s been mentioning Mammoth, recently.   I’m waiting to see if anyone I know joins …
Oh … Thandie Newton is now Thandiwe Newton: she announced the change a couple of years ago …

^        Oh … that PowerBall prize has rolled over, Debbi.   That is serious money!
And if you want fireworks … …

Q1) Quantum Leap

Q2) Opera Day

Q3) Denmark

Q4) Luxembourg

Q5) Leon Trotsky (Of course, his murderer, Ramón Mercader, was born in Barcelona. I might have mentioned that I watched an interesting movie about him some time ago).
Oh, I didn't know that about Thandiwe Newton. They don't seem to have corrected the articles I checked about her.
I don't know if the injunction will make a lot of difference. I dislike the disturbance some of these demonstrations create, but, to be honest, being polite and asking nicely doesn't tend to have much of an effect, or all the problems in the world would have been sorted by now. Either people have to take decisive action and make those in power take notice, or somebody pretty big needs to back up such proposals, it seems. Not sure what the answer is. (And no violent protesters, Ghandi and Martin Luther included, must have created a lot of disruption in their time, although perhaps their causes resonate more with the majority of people).
