Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22nd November 2022.

22nd November, 2022.

Right … it’s Tuesday: and the day before payday.

So I’ll be shopping and bill paying … tomorrow.

Today … ?

I’ve got my nephew, this afternoon: and will be finishing my review of episode three of The Abominable Snowmen, after that.

Here’s hoping they go well!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on nil.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Edward Teach died on 22nd November, 1718.   He’s best remembered as which pirate: Calico Jack, Captain Kidd or Blackbeard?

Q2)        The Congress of closed on 22nd November, 1908.   It standardised which country’s alphabet: Albania’s, Croatia’s or Moldova’s?

Q3)        Actor, singer and songwriter, Hoagy Carmichael, was born on 22nd November, 1899.   It’s said — by a very well known writer — that a well known fictional spy looks like Carmichael.   Which spy: James Bond, George Smiley or Harry Lime?

Q4)        Germany’s first female Chancellor was sworn into office: on 22nd November, 2005.   She stepped down in which year: 2022, 2021 or 2020?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Toy Story was released on 22nd November, 1995.   Who voiced Woody, in Toy Story: Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise or Tom ‘Bones’ Malone?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Björk was born on 21st November.   Of which year of 1960s?
A1)        1965.

Q2)        She was born in Iceland, in the capital.   What IS that capital?
A2)        Reykjavík.

Q3)        Björk was the lead singer of which band: the Sugarcubes, Sugarbabes or Sugar Daddies?
A3)        The Sugarcubes.

Q4)        One of her early hits — Big Time Sensuality — reached number 17 in the UK.   In which year of the 1990s: 1991, 1992 or 1993?
A4)        1993.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Björk’s biggest UK hit was It’s Oh So Quiet.   Who directed the video for It’s Oh So Quiet: Spike Jonze, Spike Lee or Spike Milligan?
A5)        Spike Jonze.
Here’s a thought …
“La France a perdu une bataille, mais la France n’a pas perdu la guerre.”
“France has lost a battle, but France has not lost the war.”
Charles de Gaulle, 22 November 1890 – 9 November 1970.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (Did you get cut off?)

I wouldn’t worry too much, Olga, you’re looking good on it!   And wasn’t Dancer in the Dark directed by Lars von Trier?   I keep thinking he directed The Neon Demon: but that was Nicolas Winding Refn.   (The Neon Demon is definitely odd!)
Yes, you’re right: verifying an account seems tricky.   You’re supposed to add a ‘rel = "me"’ tag to a link … somewhere.   Filling in lots of forms seems easier!

That he is, Debbi, that he is.   Did you know he met Christopher Lloyd, recently?   It looked quite emotional.

Q1) Blackbeard

Q2) Albania (you missed Manastir in the question)

Q3) James Bond

Q4) 2021

Q5) Tom Hanks
Yes, Lars Von Trier. I remember watching Antichrist with my friend, and you need to have quite the stomach for it (the first scene is black and white and incredibly beautiful, but there are moments that are horrible as well. And I don't flinch at gore in horror movies). Melancholia is beyond sad but also painfully beautiful. This man knows what a true depression looks and feel like, that is for sure, from my experience with patients.
Have fun with Jude. :)

Have I ever mentioned that Tom Hanks and I are the exact same age? Born on the same day of the same year! Kinda wild. :)
