5th November, 2022.
It’s Saturday … one that’s going to slide past in a reverie of quietness.
Well … until tonight, that is.
It is, after all 5th November: which means there’ll be fireworks.
While I’m writing the next Strange New Worlds review?
I might just open the curtains, and see what I can see.
~≈$≈~
I’m not really a gambler.
I do have the odd flutter on the Lottery, though.
Or Lotto, I should say.
It’s been called that for some time.
But?
I keep half an eye on the news: and, like ANY of us, always notice the news of upcoming big draws.
The few huge Euromillions wins get attention.
The big Spanish draws at Christmas, do, too.
But … ?
The US, being the US … ?
Has a seriously big jackpot in today’s PowerBall
In the shape of a $1.6 billion big prize.
A US billion, rather than a UK billion.
I’ve got one question.
Where on Earth do I get a ticket for that?
I don’t care how many zeros are in that billion dollars, that’s a VERY nice amount!
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here’s a quote …
“Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder Treason and Plot.I know of no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.”Traditional poem.
And its musical equivalent …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† It sounds like a good day was had by all, Olga!
Talking of opportunities knocking … ? Remember, a few weeks ago, I missed out on a job with an outsourcing company? The recruiters for one team — Plusnet — turned me down as I didn’t get through vetting. The one I had an interview for — the outsourcing companies recruiters for Tescos, if memory serves — wanted me. And didn’t want to do the vetting until after I signed the contract. Well, Plusnet, the one that turned me down … phoned last night to arrange an interview. I think I’m going to be asking pointed questions …
I have to admit, I did like Allen’s LDN … !
‡ Actually, it had two different covers: I had the other one, Debbi! I think … ! The individual rule books^ always stuck in my mind: they had faux leather covers.
Did I mention the GURPS Prisoner rpg? I did, didn’t I? That I’ve still got. The company that produced it got raided by the Secret Service, I know that … !
That’s a thought, Debbi: if you win the PowerBall, mine’s a MacBookPro … !
^ Most RPG’s have two rule books: one for the players, another for the referee/Games Master/Dungeon-master.
