21st October, 2023: Let There Be Light!
Right …
I THINK I’m getting annoyed!
Dr Who fans in the UK will know that the BBC aren’t adding An Unearthly Child — the show’s first story — to its iPlayer catchup service.
As it’s in a rights dispute with the son of the story’s writer, Anthony Coburn.
Personally … ?
It’s you, me and the rest of the fans, suffering through this.
What doesn’t help … ?
Is the simple fact the son, Stef?
Comes across as a pretentious … idiot.
I’ve seen his profile, after all.
I’ve also seen this post:
The man describes Doctor Who fans as ‘sheeple’.
As people who behave like sheep: swallowing anything they’re told.
That tells me, one thing.
That Stef Coburn* is nothing other than utterly contemptuous of the fans: fans who are, ultimately, the source of the money he wants in compensation.
‘Idiot’ … ? Is putting it mildly.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Mum‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring Four out of five, Debbi on five and Mum on three.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

The dead included members of which American rock band: Jefferson Starship, Lynyrd Skynyrd or the Mothers of Invention?A3) Lynyrd Skynyrd.Q4) 20th October, 1895, saw the birth of actor, Rex Ingram. Here’s a thought …
“They [the bulbs] require no external regulating equipment, have low manufacturing costs, and work equally well on either alternating current or direct current.”From the Wikipedia entry on the invention.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Some of the other Twitter posts I’ve seen? And I wish I’d bookmarked them, I really do! At any rate, some of the other posts I’ve seen of his, tell me his demands include a set amount of money: plus using one of his father’s scripts into a Dr Who story.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know if the BBC can accept such a script for the show. If I’ve understood these things correctly, scripts would have to go to Bad Wolf, as the show’s co-producers. OR through Russell T. Davies, as Dr Who’s show runner.
† So long as I can get a hearing date, Olga, I’ll be happy!
‡ Hello, Mum!
§ It’s worth a look, Debbi!

Debbi is the one who gave the correct answer to question 5. The 1818 treaty was between British North America and the Unite states.
Canada did not come into being until 1867 when it became the Dominion of Canada.
Check out why Canadians celebrate Canada day.
So please correct your scores.
