Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 25-10-2023 — Northamptonshire Day

25th October, 2023: Northamptonshire Day.

Right …

I’ve got to admit to having woken up with an earworm: a song, playing through my head.

This morning?

I woke up with Wet Leg’s “Oh, No” banging through my head.

Obviously, they couldn’t find the heads for their Womble costumes.

At ANY rate … ?

The only way I could get it out of my head?

Was playing a Vengaboys song …

The fact they aren’t dressed up as Wombles is a good thing …

~≈¥≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Trevor§ didn’t leave us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        25th October is Northamptonshire Day.   What’s the county’s county town?

Q2)        That town is Northamptonshire’s biggest by population.   What’s the county’s next biggest town: Kettering, Corby or Wellingborough?

Q3)        When addressing a letter, ‘Northamptonshire’ is usually abbreviated to what: N Yorkshire, Northants or Notts?

Q5)        It was replaced by how many ‘new’ councils: one, two or three?

Q6)        Name one of those new councils.

Q7)        The British Grand Prix is held in Northamptonshire.   Where: Silverstone, Brands Hatch or Donnington Park?

Q8)        The Northampton Saints are from Northamptonshire.   They play what: rugby union, rugby league, association football or cricket?

Q9)        Keyboard player, the Reverend Richard Coles, is from Northamptonshire.   He was a member of which band: Bronski Beat, the Communards or the Mighty Wah!?

Q10)        Finally … ?   The Rushton Triangular Lodge is in Northamptonshire.   It’s a what: castle, folly or manor house?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        24th October is Food Day.   Where: Canada, the USA or Mexico?
A1)        The USA.

Q5)        Finally … ?   24th October, 2003, saw the last commercial flight of the what: Concorde, Boeing 747 or the McDonnell Douglas DC10?
A5)        Concorde.

Here’s a quote …

“Northamptonshire […] is a ceremonial county in the East Midlands of England”.
From the Wikipedia entry on the area.

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

I’ve managed to do some double-checking, Olga: Sainsbury’s does take them.   I managed to get some new razor blades, there, yesterday.   Their didn’t have any of the eight pack versions, though.   Which is a shame, the latter had a big discount.
My usual card is a Visa one: which is taken everywhere.   (The one that usually causes traders problems is American Express: a lot of places won’t take it, as it charges retailers a lot.)

Problems, Debbi?   Have you tried using a different browser?
(Last time I couldn’t upload to YouTube, it was because I needed to change the output settings in iMovie.   Changing your copy’s settings could help: or you can recode the video with Handbrake.)

Do you not mean "Trevor§ didn’t SEND us a message."?

Again editing and checking would help.
