Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23rd September, 2022

23rd September, 2022.

Yep: Thursday is now officially finished.

One that — for me — was rather long.

A weight management meeting in the morning, a meeting with my Job Centre case worker, in the afternoon.

Oh, and a ’flu jab in the evening.

My arm hasn’t fallen off, yet: thankfully.

At any rate?

Today is Friday: payday.

I — thankfully — haven’t been sanctioned after being late for a meeting, a few weeks ago.

So … it’s payday.

I’m the day after my phone bill came in: showing that I’m one hundred and twenty pounds in credits, after negotiating a new contract.

I’m thankful.

It means I can put an extra few pounds on gas and electricity meters.

The Cost of Living payment — the one that’s due in the autumn — can’t get to people soon enough.

Just as a last thought … ?

I’ve a couple of podiatrist appointments due, over the next couple of weeks.

And I have to ask, as I did in the intro video.

Is it ‘po-de-a-trist,’ or ‘po-DIE-a-trist’?

I’m blowed if I know … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

“I just want to make my mark, leave something musically good behind.”
Ray Charles, September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004.
And some messing around …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I’ve got a weird mental image, now, Olga: a seal, in a rose garden, making ‘arf, arf,’ noises.   What can I tell you?
I think opera singers generally keep very fit and healthy: not as fit as footballers and ballet dancers, but fitter than most.   That possibly explains Andre Bocellia’s looks.
Ooooh … I’d never heard of the chap … but I’ve just Googled for the Field^ sculptures.   And started thinking of an old Terry Pratchett novel called Feet of Clay.   I’m just wondering if the cover artist saw those things: they’re a spit of Discworld Golems!
(I know what you mean about the price: Steampunk kit’s both expensive and gorgeous!)

†        Hello, Mum!   (It was I Hate Suzie!   She played Rose in Dr Who.)

I know: I saw it many years ago, Debbi.   It’s mildly shocking, seeing him looking so young!

^        Now I think of it, Olga?   I think they got a mention on the Today programme, yesterday.   Don’t quote me, though!

I'm pretty sure I've heard some questions about the Field sculptures and comments in different programmes. But seeing them, life, was something else. I asked them how long it took them to put them all in place, because they completely filled a very large room, and I think they told me 6 days. Of course, in Liverpool it had the added interest that he had gone to Saint Helens to get the people do to the models, so they were pretty local. I had to check because I thought I remembered the Asian Field was huge, and so it was, 200000 figurines. Vast! Of course, I did go by his Angel of the North quite a few times, and I remember it wearing a Newcastle T-shirt as well. It's pretty impressive.
It is good you managed to do everything, and good news on the payment front and no penalties.
I'm not sure this is terrible helpful, but as for podiatry...

I am not sure I sound like either version, but, hey, ho!

Speaking of Star Trek, William Shatner plays a major character in my latest serialized movie. Something called Incubus. :)
