25th September, 2022.
Yes: I’ve now had … an eye test!
Or, at least, I had one, yesterday.
Which — between one thing and another? — took a lot longer than I expected.
And included a (paid for) test: one my opticians cal an OCT, or Optical Coherence Tomography, test.
Apparently, it’s supposed to help spot problems, sooner.
Apart from the length of time?
My only complaint is simply that it cost me money for one pair of glasses.
You are — if you’re climbing Universal Credit in the UK — allowed two pairs of spectacles for free.
I need three*: so had to pay for the cheapest pair.
As cheap as they were?
That still leaves me a little short for the month.
Still … ?
It does allow me to see, day to day.
There’s an upside: however tight the rest of this month may be.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Mum‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.

* I need a distance pair: for watching TV, the cinema, and driving. A second pair for reading. And a third pair for using the computer. That’s the cheap pair.
† That’s exactly what my sister, Anna, tells me, Olga: she’s been past the Angel a few times, over the years. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the Park, as well. Hepworth and Moore are both well known! And Plensa looks impressive!
Now I think of it? There’s a private house near me that had a sculpture in the front garden: an Anish Kapoor style steel ball. I don’t know if it was a genuine Kapoor: but it was a captivating thing to see. The reflections were amazing.
I’m not surprised about food banks. I had a delivery from one, recently: that couldn’t supply any bread. Although that was held up by the bank holiday. But energy prices? Well … I can only hope the promised £400 help for everyone’s energy bill comes through sooner, rather than later.
‡ Hello, Mum!
^ Well, Portmeirion’s always good, Debbi: I’d love to visit, myself: but there you go! And London MIGHT be a good idea: I think I owe you and Rick a coffee!
Yeah, I figured that quote would get a laugh … ! :D
Oh, the picture is of the Hercules Hall, in Portmeirion: nicked from here. The last time I saw it, it had mini moles bombing around.

What a pain about the third pair of glasses, although I know we did talk about glasses for the computer, and I am sure progressives would work out more expensive. I touch wood because my distance vision is not too bad yet, but I am sure eventually I'll need glasses for that as well.
Fingers crossed on the financial assistance. Winter will be difficult this year.
Stay well.
I can always go for a coffee! :)
