Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15-6-2023 — Arkansas.

15th June, 2023: Arkansas.

What on Earth is going on there … ?

I woke up this morning, knowing perfectly well it’s Thursday.

Very aware.

But … ?

Convinced it was a Wednesday!

How DOES that happen?

~≈Ω≈~

The one thing I do know?

Is that my nephew, Jude, was over, yesterday: with the same problem!

Thinking it Tuesday, when it was Wednesday!

Oh, well.

At least he got some videos done!

~≈Ω≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q9)        That capital is said to be where queso was invented.   What IS queso: tomato sauce, beef stock or cheese dip?

Q10)        Finally … ?   Legendary musician, Johnny Cash, was born in Arkansas.   He was famous for playing what sort of music: country, rap or classical?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a fact …

“Arkansas is the 29th largest by area and the 34th most populous state, with a population of just over 3 million at the 2020 census.”
From the Wikipedia entry about Arkansas.

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        It can be a rough time, Olga, can’t it?   And I’m told we can be more vulnerable to diseases, when we’re grieves.   I know one cousin had a very rough time, after they mother died.
Yeah, that sounds about right: Latin influenced a few languages!
If nothing else?   I’m keeping my fingers crossed: whilst keeping an eye peeled for pins and needles!

        Hello, Mum!

That it does, Debbi, that it does!
Oh, did you ever get a chance to see Strange New Worlds?   Series two starts, today¶.   And Erica Ortegas, the pilot?   Is nuts!

Oh, there’s one episode that’s features characters from the animated Star Trek Lower Decks series, Debbi.   Which could be fun.

There must be something in the air (or the atmosphere), because my mother also believed yesterday that it was Tuesday. I was surprised when I saw her getting ready to go out with her friend, because they don't meet on Wednesdays... So it wasn't your nephew alone....

I think that Debbi's answer to your question 5 is right. Looking at the wikioedia page you quote in your answer it says publication after the latin title was translated to English. I am sure more than books were prohibited. I think some pamphlets were also banned.

I’m going to quietly disagree, there, Trevor: as both the Wikipedia and Encyclopaedia Britannica entries give the translation as “books.”

As does the Catholic Encyclopaedia, in its entry on the Index.

I also agree: that pamphlets may — may — have been on the Index.

But, again: the translations I have access to, say books rather than anything else.

There is nowhere in the question that you are asking for the translation of the title. I still stnad by my original post.

That’s fair enough, Trevor: but I’m standing by my decision, here.
