Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th June, 2023.

29th June, 2023.

It’s official: it’s rained over night!

And, by the sound of my neighbours, chatting outside … ?

We’re going to be expecting more, later.

I hope so.

After the recent heatwave, that’s going to be welcome.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

The day also saw Trevor§ leaving us a message.

“If it is true that wars are won by believers, it is also true that peace treaties are sometimes signed by businessmen.”
Antoine de Saint Exupéry, 29 June 1900 – 31 July 1944.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

†        Never seen an episode of Are You Being Served, Olga!   You’ve possibly missed a treat!   And yes, The Mandalorian’s a fun show: more of a western, than an outright sci-fi show.   Saying that, it’s supposed to have picked up a few cues from a Japanese manga/anima series, called Lone Wolf and Cub.   The central character’s an assassin who travels around with his baby son: in a weaponised pram!
And I was the same with James Wood!   The films of his I’ve seen are great watches: and some of his tweets, interesting.   But he’s a little too pro-Trump for my comfort!

Everything OK, there, Debbi?   (Oh, today’s episode’s got a version of Captain Kirk in it.)

§        Cheers, Trevor!

Thanks, Pete. My experience of You're Being Served comes from those programmes they used to show, every so often, when they listed the best comedy series, etc., so I don't think I have actually watched a whole one. Although some British series came here (Man About the House, George and Mildred, Benny HIll, definitely, and quite a few of the more serious ones, like Upstairs Downstairs, the Duchess of Duke Street, and later, Brideshead Revisited, a big favourite of mine), I don't think they ever showed that one, or at least I never came across it. I've mentioned already that they showed Fawlty Towers, on the Catalan TV, where they also showed Neighbours, but not the whole series (it's been years now since they've showed any episodes).
I also like quite a few of James Woods' movies, but these days I always think of the Simpsons when I hear about him.

Oy! 10 questions. Well, I just finished writing a feature film screenplay, so I'll manage.

I'm okay. Just ... busy. And my hand hurts. Ouch!
