Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-6-2023 — Universal

8th June, 2023: Universal.

Right … it’s Thursday …

Which means … ?

I’m going to have to get to the high street, at some point.

As I have to re-order my Ozempic medication.

The problem there?

There’s a shortage, you know.

Hopefully … ?

My chemist and GP will be able to sort out something.

~≈🚑≈~

Talking of which … ?

I couldn’t help but notice both the BBC, and ITV, have reported that Wegovy is to be trialled as a weight loss drug.

With the Diabetes UK website emphasising its use as a treatment for Type 2 diabetes, the version I’m living with.

The problem, there, of course?

Is simply that both the rare as rocking horse poo Ozempic, and Wegovy, both have Semaglutide as their active ingredient.

It’s like buying Anadin Ultra, when the chemist has run out of Nurofen.

Both have the same active ingredient, ibuprofen.

The only difference between Anadin Ultra/Nurofen and Ozempic/Wegovy?

Is that the former are made by two different companies.

And the latter, Ozempic/Wegovy*?

Are made by the same company.

Do you get the feeling the NHS is being had?

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Mum‡ and Debbi¶ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Carl Laemmle incorporated Universal Pictures on 8th June.   8th June of which year: 1911, 1912 or 1913?

Q2)        Universal is the oldest member of Hollywood’s major studios.   These studios are known as the Big what: four, five or six?

Q3)        Universal’s studios are in Universal City.   Universal City is in which US state: Alaska, California or Florida?

Q4)        As of the time of writing, Universal’s highest grossing film, worldwide, is what: Jurassic World, Furious 7 or Minions?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Universal made a set of cartoons about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.   Oswald was co-created by Ub Iwerks: and who?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The US Supreme Court handed down a decision: on 7th June, 1965.   It prevented individual states criminalising the use of what: contraception, abortion, or marijuana?
A1)        Contraception.

Q2)        Criminalising the use … by whom: married couples, unmarried couples or single people?
A2)        Married couples.

Q3)        The case concerned is known as Griswold v. whom?
A3)        Connecticut.

Q4)        The Supreme Court, itself, is in which US City: New York, Chicago or Washington DC?
A4)        Washington DC.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The decision is one of many big decisions by the court.   Decisions that are known as what: landmark, landscape or land army?
A5)        Landmark.
Here’s a thought …
“Universal is the oldest surviving film studio in the United States”
From Wikipedia’s entry about Universal.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Both are made by a Danish company called Novo Nordisk.   You can imagine what happened when chemists ran out of Ozempic, can’t you?   They’ve ALL phoned Novo Nordisk.   Who’ve said “We’re sorry, we’re out of stock of Ozempic: but we’ve got an alternative.   Would you like fries with that?”
I’m also wondering if Semaglutide’s still under patent.   As Rybelsus — a tablet form of the drug — is also made by Novo Nordisk.

It probably helps Graham’s sat next to the window, Olga.   :D   Opening that should keep him cool.   Especially with the weather warnings we’ve got for the weekend!
Either way … ?   I think I’m going to need things crossed getting a replacement medication … !

        Hello, Mum!

Yep, that’s the old story, Debbi.   Did you know Roger Delgado was a Cockney?   He father was Spanish, his mother, Belgian … and he was born in Whitechapel, within the sound of Bow Bells.
Saying all that?   I might have given you the wrong church.   The Cockney one is on Cheapside: the one new Bow Church Station is on Bow Road!   In Stratford!   Oy!

Q1) The article on Wikipedia, and others I’ve found, say it was incorporated on the 30th of April 1912, so not sure what to tell you...

Yes, the medication situation sounds like a nice trick to play. I hope they come up with a workable solution.
