Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23rd June, 2023.

23rd June, 2023.

Right … I have issues!

I’ve got a new sharps bin: for my new medications.

It’s a bucket sized one.

With a sliding trapdoor that you open, when you need to put something in.

I opened it, when I got it home: to see how it worked.

Then closed it.

Not realising that you could only open the thing, once.

It’s a safety feature.

I’m going to have to get another one: due to my own ignorance, I’ve now got one I can’t use!

~≈🗑️≈~

Helpfully, though … ?

I’m up early!

As I’ve got a diabetic foot check at my GP’s.

That means I can put in a request for another one, at the same time.

~≈🗑️≈~

Just in case you didn’t know?

An old friend told me — a few days ago — that there’s a new comic shop opening in Brentwood.

It’s a branch of Romford’s Comic Book Heroes: in Moore’s Place, around the corner from Saint Thomas’ Church.

They open on Sunday, 25th June, this year*.

If you want to buy your favourite blogger, stuff, you’d be supporting a local business … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi¶ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        23rd June is UN what day: Public Service Day, World Climate Day or Sausage Day?

Q2)        23rd June is the Grand Duke’s Official Birthday.   Where: Luxembourg, Liechtenstein or Belgium … ?

Q3)        23rd June, 1314, saw the start of which Scottish battle: the Raid of Scone, the Battle of Methven, or the Battle of Bannockburn?

Q4)        NASA’s Space Station Processing Facility was opened on 23rd June, 1994.   It makes parts for what: the Artemis program, the International Space Station or the James Webb Space Telescope?

Q5)        Finally … ?   23rd June, 2016, saw the UK hold a referendum.   On whether to leave or stay in what: the UN, EU or OAU?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        22nd June, 1911, saw the coronation of George 5th.   He was king of the UK, and the UK’s Dominions: and Emperor of where?
A1)        India.

Q2)        22nd June, 1942, saw the US Congress formally adopt what: the Bill of Rights, the Pledge of Allegiance or the US dollar?
A2)        The Pledge of Allegiance.

Q3)        Charon was discovered on 22nd June, 1978.   It’s a moon of where: Pluto, Neptune or Uranus?
A3)        Pluto.

Q4)        22nd June, 1990, saw the last bits of Checkpoint Charlie, removed.   Checkpoint Charlie was where: Amsterdam, Berlin or Canterbury?
A4)        Berlin.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Emperor Ruizong was born: on 22nd June, AD662.   He was an Emperor of which Chinese dynasty: Fang, Tang, Hong or McSweeney?
A5)        Tang.
Here’s a thought …

“This is only a foretaste of what is to come, and only the shadow of what is going to be.”
Alan Turing, 23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954.

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        They’ve got a very good painting of the Liberator on one wall!

        Hello, Mum!

It’s rude at times, Olga: but VERY funny!   It and The Mister Hell Show were cancelled way too soon!

What, Mongrels, Debbi?   :D   Interesting is one way of putting it!   (Oh, that comic shop?   Is round the corner from Cafe Nero, so you know … )

Well, the shop sure looks good. I am not much of a comic person, but I like to visit the shops. They always have interesting things (and people) around.
Sorry about the sharp's bin. Yes, you are only meant to close them when they are full, because reopening them would cause a risk of injury.
Here tomorrow, St John's day, is a public holiday, and tonight there are parties to celebrate la verbena de San Joan (St John's Eve), with fireworks, and coca... Very noisy. A scary night for dogs, and a noisy one for the rest of us.

I hope the appointment goes well today. Always good to have your feet checked.
